3K /5K Dog Walk

When: Saturday, May 17th (Armed Forces Day USA); rain or shine
Registration Times: 8:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. at the Zoo's East Gate
Walk Times: 9:00 a.m. & 11:30 a.m.
Where: Salisbury Zoo - East Gate Pavilion (near the main Zoo entrance)
Cost: $15 in advance; $18 day of Dog Walk
(check made out to Salisbury Lions)
FREE Doggie Bags: to the first 300 applicants
Pre-Registration: For pre-registration mail in application to the Salisbury Lions

The reason we are raising funds for the Veterans is because the men and women coming home from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars will have emotional problems (40 to 50%). Our government can only do so much and they need our help. The funds that we raise will help us obtain a dog firm the animal shelter or they can tell us what type of dog they would prefer. We will then have the dog trained (basic commands) and donate the dog.

WAIVER ON DOG WALK APPLICATION

1 know that walking or volunteering for a walk is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter a walk unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a walk official relative to my ability to safely complete the walk. I assume all risks associated with walking in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Salisbury Lions Club, the City of Salisbury, all sponsors, their representatives and successors, from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising from my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.
